Sikorski Archives/Museum

Spent an interesting morning at the Sikorski Archives in London
… and who was there to greet me when I arrived?
Yes, Wojtek the Soldier Bear … well a sculpture anyway.

I was looking through their photo albums …

and found some brilliant photos of the soldiers training at Largo House
(aka Monkey Grove aka Malpi Gaj)

… so my dad did all that clambering around in trees and along poles
when he trained to be in the parachute brigade.

The museum is well worth a visit if you’re in London.
You’re taken round by veterans or volunteers
who have a phenomenal amount of information
at their finger tips about the Polish Army.

And the archive staff are really helpful and interested in your research.

Thanks to Sikorski Archive for the above photographs.
