The pool at Cellardyke was the Cardinal Steps. I can’t remember if it was named for Cardinal Beaton or another one! I remember swimming there, diving in from the diving board, in the mid-1950s. Even by East Fife standards it was cool. My best friend and several other pals were from Polish families and I lived in Lundin Links, and later in Tayport. A good few of the Poles opened businesses. But we knew nothing of their wartime stories. Very interesting.
