Grand Day Out in Rotherhithe 2

… a trip to the Brunel Museum …

to discover more about the Rotherhithe Shaft
and the Thames Tunnel
described when it opened in 1843
as the
“the 8th wonder of the world”

and
now part of the Overground line
it runs under the Thames
joining the north to the south

… an amazing feat of 19th century engineering
that took 18 years to build
and is still in use today …
