Polish Mosaic

I’ve been thinking about my photo mosaic today
but got distracted and headed off to St Andrews.

The scaffolding is down round the Town Hall in South Street,
so I managed to get a photo of this mosaic:

The mosaic shows a Polish soldier being protected by St Andrew.

It was made by three Polish servicemen
and commemorates the gratitude of the Polish soldiers
to the town and people of St Andrews
for the welcome they received when stationed in the area during WW2.

It was unveiled in October 1941 by President Paszkiewicz.
